I originally painted this landscape plein-air at Macquarie River, out West past Bathurst NSW. It was a sizzling hot day, typical for Australia's outback but standing under trees near a river made it bearable.
I sold the painting on the spot, and wanted to recreate it ever since.
For this variation I've used Schmincke's super granulating pigment. They give it a beautifully grainy texture, reminding me of photo film I used when I was much younger.
